Weigh-in Day

What made me decide to do my weigh-ins on Mondays?  If I have a bad weekend, I don't have any time to work it off!  Oh well.  Anyway... I didn't gain any weight this week, so that's good. Stayed exactly the same, so I'm down a total of 6.4 lbs.  Hopefully with starting this whole running thing I can get back on track with losing 2 lbs a week.

New Blog

So hey, fyi, I decided to start a new blog to keep up with my running progress... mostly because I'm procrastinating at the moment...  It's www.bethanyruns.blogspot.com

Crazy! Crazy! I was crazy once!

So I think I may have finally lost my mind...  My friend Jenny is running an all-female half marathon in December and she is looking for someone to do it with her.  I may have said I'd train for it, doing 5Ks and 10Ks along the way...  For the record, I have NOT committed to this thing yet, but I did say I am going to start running and I went for my first walk/run today... wow I'm out of shape!  I'm using an app called Personal Running Trainer (clever name, huh?) that talks to you over your own music to tell you when to change from walking to running and back.  Kinda nifty.  I am doing the "4 Weeks to 1 Mile" plan for now... but I may take 5 or 6 weeks to do it.  Just running those 45 second intervals about killed me today!  I'm really gonna try to stick with it, though, so I'll keep you posted!

On a less healthy note, Jenny and I also ate a lot of good-but-not-good-for-you food this weekend.  We made our own pasta (so fun, so good, and actually really easy!) and some amazing brownies... yum!  So needless to say, I probably didn't lose any weight this week.  Possibly gained.  However, it was a great, relaxing weekend and I really needed that.  Now to kick back into gear for school the next few weeks until Spring Break!

Crazy Week

This past week or so has just been crazy busy... I had a presentation for Practicum last Tues. night (which went fine I think), I was in the video room for Practicum last Tues. night (which went well... got some positive feedback along with the areas for improvement), had a paper due last week, did Prepare/Enrich training on Saturday, met with my group for a presentation in another class next week on Sunday, worked most of the day yesterday along with class, and have had class and work already today and have practicum tonight.  Whew!

Prepare/Enrich training was great!  Prepare/Enrich is an assessment that can be used in both premarital and marriage counseling.  It is easily customizable to fit engaged couples, married couples, couples marrying to form step-families, couples getting married late in life, couples who are dating and thinking about getting engaged... etc.  I really like the format of the test and all the feedback, so I really think it's going to be a great tool to use later in life as I begin counseling.

Even with all the busyness this week, though, I did lose a little over a pound, so I'm still trying to stay on it.  So total that puts me at about minus 6 1/2 or 7 lbs.  I'm doing pretty well with the eating, but now I really need to start focusing on the exercise part, so that's my goal for this week.

Haven't really listened to much of anything in particular on itunes this week... mostly just put it on shuffle My Top Rated...

Watched my Swing Kids Netflix dvd the other day (after it sitting on my table for a week or so...).  Great movie!

Weight Loss Report

Well, I just lost 1 lb. this week, so that's kind of a bummer.  I did really good except for Friday night when Ginny and I went out to On the Border with Chris and Sarah... wow Mexican food has a lot of calories.  Like a lot a lot.  I need to work on my portion control when I go out to eat.  I do well when I'm at home and have pre-packaged stuff but not so much when it's just all right there in front of me.  Oh well, though.  I've done pretty well today, so hopefully I'll continue in that and get better results this week.  Slow and steady wins the race, right?

...Can't think of a creative title...

So through the use of my myfitnesspal.com app, I lost 2 lbs. this past week.  I was hoping for more since I was under my calorie goal most days, but considering the fact that we had 4 snow days and I sat on my butt for most of them, I think 2 lbs. is pretty good.  I've done my Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown dvd last night and this morning, so I'm getting a good start to this week.  I've also been fairly productive when it comes to school work, too, so I'm looking forward to a good week.

Netflix:  I did a Karate Kid (the original ones) marathon the other day and they're as good as I remembered.  Also watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, which is totally ridiculous and totally hysterical.  A must for anyone with nerdy and/or musical tendencies.

iTunes:  Pretty much the same stuff as last week... Listened to Glee yesterday while doing some housework...
